Flex Connection Steps To connect the Thermocycler GEN2 to the Flex:

1. Use a 2.5mm screwdriver to remove the A1 expansion slot plate and the A1 and B1 deck slot plates.
2. Use both hands to carefully lift the module and insert it into the slot of the caddy. Make sure the module exhaust port is facing the exhaust duct on the caddy.
3. Use a 2.5mm screwdriver to tighten the anchor by turning the anchor screw clockwise. When the module is not moving, it is secure while gently pulling it and shaking it from side to side.
4. Connect the USB cable to the module and route the remaining cable through the cable management bracket.
5. Press the power connector onto the module firmly into place. Route the remaining cables through the cable management bracket.
6. Insert the pallet (exhaust pipe first) into the open deck slot. Route the USB and power cords through the removable side cover as shown below as you lower the Caddy into place.
7. Connect the USB cable to the USB port on the Flex.
8. Connect the module's power cord to the external power supply unit. Manually tighten the locking ring to secure it to the power supply.
9. Connect the power supply to the wall outlet.
10. Turn on the thermal cycler power. If you see a white light on the thermal cycler is on. You can open and close the lid by pressing the illuminated button. After a successful connection, the module appears on your robot's device details page in the Pipettes and Modules section of the Opentrons app.
