1. Composition of pipetting workstation:

The pipetting workstation generally consists of five parts: liquid transfer module, monitoring module, workbench, safety door and software. The main function of the liquid transfer module is to complete liquid handling tasks such as sample gradient dilution, liquid transfer and merging. The monitoring module can monitor the status of the liquid transfer module to ensure the accuracy of liquid transfer. Containers, accessories and integrated related instruments required for experiments can be placed on the workbench. The workstation is equipped with a safety door to prevent contaminants or foreign objects from flying in due to liquid splashing during the experiment, thereby ensuring the safety of the operator. The software can control the liquid transfer workstation and its integrated accessories and equipment to realize liquid transfer, reagent addition, dilution ratio or control various integrated accessories and instruments.

2. Three liquid transfer methods on the pipetting workstation:

1. Air replacement type

The principle of liquid transfer is the same as the liquid transfer gun used in the laboratory; the liquid aspiration work achieved by the air displacement principle involves the use of a spring piston or the use of a high-precision syringe pump to aspirate and discharge liquid quantitatively. When using a spring piston for liquid transportation, a certain volume V1 needs to be set. The air is expelled by compressing the piston, and the liquid delivery tip is inserted below the solution level, creating a sealed space between the piston and the liquid level. At this point, the piston returns to its original position. Under the action of atmospheric pressure, the solution is sucked into the liquid transfer tip, and the volume of the solution V2 = the volume of the exhausted air V1.

2. Liquid path type

This instrument has a long pipe through which hydraulic pressure controls the suction and discharge of liquid. The advantage of the liquid circuit type is that the suction head can be cleaned by suction and discharge. Tips are reusable, reducing consumable costs, but may lead to contamination between samples.

3. Non-contact

Liquid transfer ranges in milliliter/picoliter volumes are achievable. Non-contact liquid delivery methods include valve dispensing technology, inkjet technology, glass capillary dispensers and ultrasonic droplet generation technology. Some of these technologies were developed for the printing industry but are now important components of microarrays and "lab-on-a-chip" systems in the life sciences.

3. Application of pipetting workstation:

1. Drug screening: whether it is primary screening, secondary screening, or intermediate rearrangement tasks.

2. It can conduct high-throughput automatic screening of lead compounds and potential compound libraries, and effectively complete absorption, metabolism and toxicity experiments.

3. In terms of proteome and cytology analysis, cytokine detection kits can quickly and effectively detect multiple different cytokines in the same type of cells.

4. Provides a complete set of DNA/RNA sample purification and preparation solutions to meet subsequent experimental applications, such as sequencing, PCR amplification, transfection and sequencing product purification.
