NGS library preparation refers to the process of converting target DNA or RNA fragments into a form that can be read by sequencing instruments. This usually involves breaking DNA or RNA into fragments of appropriate sizes, performing end repairs, adapter ligation, purification, and amplification, and ultimately generates a collection containing a large number of small DNA or RNA fragments, a library.
